TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION
If you are applying to the University of Pittsburgh as a transfer student, you are required to submit an official credential evaluation. Freshmen applicants may be required in certain instances to submit an official credential evaluation. These evaluations include all international documents (transcripts, marksheets, certificates, examination results, etc.).
The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid only accepts transcripts evaluations from U.S. accredited evaluation services, including:
- World Education Services (WES)
- Educational Credential Evaluations (ECE)
- Josef Silny and Associates (JS&A)

Evaluations performed by foreign agencies or your local notary office will not be accepted.
NOTE: Credential evaluations can take up to 4-6 weeks to be received by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid from the date you submit your evaluation application, so please plan ahead accordingly, considering the application deadlines.
Transcripts from universities in the United States may not require a transcript evaluation. Students must contact pitt.admissions@pitt.edu to request the waiver, and our admissions committee will review and approve the request case by case.
- In the United States, a secondary school transcript covers 4 years from grades 9-12 including proof of high school graduation (diploma or certificate of completion).If secondary school in your country covers only 3 years, please be sure to also submit the 3rd year of your middle school record.

- Transfer applicants do not need to submit credential evaluations for their secondary record (high school). Do however, send your secondary transcripts (9-12th grade) in the original language and a certified, literal English translation of it to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at Pitt (pitt.admissions@pitt.edu); and send your post-secondary (college or university) records to accredited evaluation services mentioned above for evaluation.
