Hunter Griffith - Admissions | University of Pittsburgh

Hunter Griffith

While he admits aspects of the Air Force were exciting, it’s his time at Pitt that has surpassed expectations. “There are lots of amazing things to do…amazing opportunities that I couldn’t get anywhere else.”

Like what, you ask? Hunter says the people definitely top the list, with a campus full of rich diversity in ethnicities and experiences. He’s also plugged into multiple activities that feed his passion for outdoor adventure and physical fitness. He’ll soon be president of the club, “Choose a Challenge”– whose members will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in May and taking a road trip through several national parks this summer. He also hits Pitt’s gym/rec center scene 4-5 times a week. And let’s not forget the Pitt Panthers. “It’s a super energetic campus,” says Hunter.

If you think Hunter is just an adventure-seeker, think again. He’s also a self-described “nerd,” who took the time, early on, to investigate where the best study spots were on campus. The 35th floor of the Cathedral is his favorite. “I found a lot of little places where I still go back to most days.”

And Hunter has some advice to those who may be on the fence about committing to Pitt. “Do it!” he says. “Any confusion or issue you might face, there’s always someone you can reach out to nearly 24/7.”
